Asst. Technician

Job Description

• Repair mechanical fixtures such as sinks, commodes, showers, water heaters, hot water tanks or booster pumps, fire sprinkler system and portable firefighting equipment.

• Receives Work Order from the Supervisor and perform work to the required high standard of quality.

• Observance of general personnel safety practices and methods within the Facility Support Group by proper utilization of signs (Sorry for Inconvenience/Under Repair) and barriers.

• Repair defective or damaged potable, chilled, fire water valves and pipe joints.

• Monitor and reports daily to the Supervisor status of the plumbing system and sub-system, drainage or sanitary lines and fittings.

• Respond to service calls (Duty Manager of from customers by telephone) on malfunction to any utility / sanitary system and report status to the requester and Senior Technician.

• Cut, thread, and bend pipes using cutting torch & pipe cutter, pipe threading machine or Lathe machine (as the case may be).

• Locate and mark position for pipe, pipe connection, all types of valves in the building's water distribution system.

• Studies blue prints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to sewage and drainage system on the building.

• Generate materials / spare parts requisitions for plumbing & sanitary units and assembly.

• Assist other Civil Group staff in routine works as and when required.

• Assist Facility Mechanical and HVAC Groups in their duties when needed and as designated by the Facility Supervisor.

• Observance of proper housekeeping / tidiness in the workshop and work site.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Submit daily End of Shift Report to Senior Technician.

Skills

• Ability to work under pressure.
• Technical knowledge in sheet metal fabrication is an advantage
• Ability to read, write and speak English is a must, Arabic language is desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, review and interpret mechanical designs and diagrams, technical documents, can prepare and present technical records and reports.
• Ability to work with all personal types
